Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is actively seeking a dedicated Tax Accountant to join a thriving team in Pleasanton (100% on-site). This onsite position offers an opportunity to manage and facilitate the preparation and review of federal tax returns while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of all company federal tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms.
  • Manage tax planning and compliance across all business entities, ensuring accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings, including multi-location city business licensing.
  • Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and operations departments to ensure alignment and coordination on all tax-related matters.
  • Manage and facilitate IRS and/or State income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on financial issues, including tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
  • Monitor all tax operations to ensure their timely completion and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments and communicate the effects of these developments to key management. Create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
  • Develop and implement internal audits.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a tax or accounting role with 2+ years of management experience.
  • Preferred candidates have a current CPA license and a master's degree in an accounting discipline.
  • Extensive corporate/partnership tax knowledge.
  • Proficient with the following software/tools: Word, Outlook, Excel.
  • Proven accounting, analytical, and research skills.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate the benefits of tax initiatives to stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate tax codes, compliance, and procedures.
  • Expertise with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of tax operations and the ability to drive process improvements.
  • Ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to travel to Corporate Headquarters as required.

Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 annually, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates.

This position requires 5-10 years of Big 4 experience and is based onsite in Pleasanton.
